Pi Luo Chun is a famous rare green tea from Chinese Yunnan Province. The name means Spring Green Snail, given by the Emperor Kang Xi who felt the tea leaves looked like tiny green snails.

This tea has unusual leaves, they are large and are twisted into tight coils with a dark green almost black tan. The liquor is surprisingly light and delicate, and has a rich amber in colour with a strawberry sweetness.

The tea leaves are hand picked, once a year during mid-March to mid-April, just for it leaf and bud. It takes 60,000 to 80,000 leaf buds sets to produce around 450g of finished Pi Lo Chun tea.

To brew: one teaspoon per person into a warmed pot, add boiled water that has cooled off for a minute. Brew for 3 minutes. Drink without milk or sugar.
