This rare Darjeeling estate green tea is light, bright, with a distinctly sweet and floral aroma. Our Darjeeling estate green tea comes from the Barnesbeg garden, planted by Christine Barnes in 1877.

Darjeeling Green Tea process starts by handpicking the tea leaves and letting them to air dry, to let excess water to evaporate. Once dried they are steamed or pan fried preventing oxidation and neutralizing enzymes. This process does not allow any oxidation with the leaves retaining its green color and the antioxidants and polyphenols are kept for their health benefits.

The garden, owned by the Goodricke Group, lies between 238 and 975 metres above sea level, with a cool and pleasant weather that is ideal for growing tea. Since 2007, the garden is being converted to Organic status. The garden is able to produces both green and black teas.

To brew: one teaspoon per person in a warmed pot, add boiling water which has cooled for 1 min, brew lightly for 2 mins. Serve without milk or sugar.
